Acceptable Use Policy

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: May 2026 | Reviewed by OPTV Support Team

This acceptable use policy sets out what is and is not allowed when using OPTV UK. It sits alongside our terms of service; where the two overlap, the terms of service are the controlling document. By using OPTV UK, including the customer area and any associated apps, you agree to use the service in line with this policy.

Purpose of this policy

The aim is straightforward: keep the service reliable for everyone, set clear expectations for customers and resellers, and give us a fair, transparent basis for enforcement when something goes wrong. We would rather state expectations clearly up front than rely on judgement calls later.

Permitted use

You may use OPTV UK to:

  • Manage your streaming subscription and billing from your customer area.
  • Set up the service on supported devices in line with our published device setup guides.
  • Contact the OPTV Support Team for help with your account, billing, or technical issues.
  • If you are a reseller, onboard and support your own customers in line with the reseller programme.

Prohibited activities

You must not use OPTV UK to:

  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party. See our DMCA policy for how we handle copyright notices.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that do not belong to you.
  • Probe, scan, or otherwise test the vulnerability of our systems without authorisation.
  • Use automation to abuse our signup, billing, or support flows.
  • Resell or transfer access to your subscription in a way that breaches our terms or the reseller programme rules.
  • Impersonate OPTV UK staff, partners, or other customers.
  • Use the service in any way that breaches applicable law in your jurisdiction.

Account responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. That means:

  • Using a strong, unique password for your OPTV UK account.
  • Not sharing your credentials publicly or with people who are not authorised to use your account.
  • Notifying the OPTV Support Team promptly if you suspect your account has been compromised.

Activity on your account is treated as your activity for the purposes of this policy. If you let someone else use your account, you are responsible for what they do with it.

Resellers and partners

Resellers are expected to onboard customers responsibly, set honest expectations about the service, and not make claims about OPTV UK that we have not made ourselves. Misuse of a reseller account, repeated complaints about a reseller's conduct, or any activity that brings the service into disrepute will result in the reseller account being suspended or closed.

Enforcement and consequences

Where we find a breach of this policy, we may, depending on severity:

  • Contact you to address the issue and require corrective action.
  • Suspend access to your account temporarily while we investigate.
  • Terminate the account if the breach is serious or repeated.
  • Take further action where required by law or by contractual obligations.

Where action is taken, refund eligibility is governed by the refund policy and our terms of service; this acceptable use policy does not override them.

Reporting an issue

If you become aware of misuse of OPTV UK that affects you or others, please report it through our support hub. Reports are reviewed by the OPTV Support Team and handled in confidence where appropriate.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" line at the top of this page reflects the most recent material change. Continued use of OPTV UK after a material update means you accept the updated policy.
